dc.description.abstract	Any worthwhile pastoral initiative must have a solid theological foundation and this is true for the process of parish clustering. It will be considered here under five headings: an appropriate image of God; an ecclesiology of communion; an inclusive theology of the priesthood; a spirituality of collaboration; a renewed vision of parish.
